Motor City Machine Guns Capture the WWE Tag Team Championships

MCMG pose with their new championships

Motor City Machine Guns (MCMG), consisting of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, captured the WWE Tag Team Championships on the October 25, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown. This victory came in just their third match in WWE, marking a significant milestone in their illustrious careers.

The match was set up after MCMG defeated #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) to become the number one contenders. The title match was then made official by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who accepted MCMG's challenge to face the reigning champions, The Bloodline (Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa).

The match was intense and action-packed, with both teams trading momentum throughout. The Bloodline initially had the upper hand, but MCMG fought back with their signature moves. The match took a dramatic turn when Jimmy Uso made a surprise appearance, attacking Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at ringside. This allowed MCMG to capitalize and secure the victory with their finishing move, the Skull and Bones.

The crowd erupted in celebration as Shelley and Sabin were crowned WWE Tag Team Champions. The victory was especially meaningful for the veteran tag team, who have been a dominant force in the wrestling world for nearly two decades.

In a heartwarming moment, Jey Uso joined the celebration, embracing his brother Jimmy and acknowledging the hard-fought victory. The reunion of the Usos added an extra layer of excitement to the already memorable night.
