Wrestling legend Sting has officially signed a multi-year legends deal with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), as revealed in an interview at the 58th Annual Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion. The deal, which is akin to a licensing agreement, ensures that Sting will continue to be a part of AEW for the foreseeable future, although he will not be wrestling.
Sting, who retired from in-ring competition earlier this year after his final match at AEW Revolution 2024, will make appearances with AEW on a part-time basis. This arrangement allows him to remain involved with the company while pursuing other interests, such as real estate.
"I signed a multi-year deal with AEW, obviously not to wrestle anymore, but it’s like a licensing deal, a legends deal if you want to call it that," Sting explained. "So I’ll do appearances with them on and off, depending on what they want and all."
Sting's contributions to AEW since his debut in December 2020 have been significant, including his memorable partnership with Darby Allin and their successful defense of the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks. His continued presence in AEW is sure to be a draw for fans and a source of inspiration for younger wrestlers.
As Sting embarks on this new chapter, fans can look forward to seeing the Icon make special appearances and continue to be a part of the AEW family.
