Topps and WWE have announced a long-term trading card partnership. This reunion marks a return to familiar territory for WWE, which had previously worked with Panini before terminating the deal in 2023 due to a breach of contract.
The new partnership comes at an opportune time, as Fanatics, the current owner of Topps, was set to produce WWE's trading cards starting in 2026. With the termination of the Panini deal, Fanatics can now begin production immediately.
Topps took to social media to announce the partnership, featuring WWE superstars such as The Undertaker, Trish Stratus, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bianca Belair, Roman Reigns, Tiffany Stratton, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Rhea Ripley. Fans were also given a sneak peek at upcoming cards, including those of Rhea Ripley and CM Punk.
The first release under this new partnership will be the 2025 Topps WWE Chrome®, which will be available on January 31, 2025. The Chrome cards are known for their metallic finish and durability, making them a prized possession for collectors. The collection will include autographed cards, rare parallels, and exclusive inserts, adding to the excitement for fans.
In addition to the physical cards, the Topps WWE Slam app, which was discontinued in 2021, will also be relaunched in early 2025. This digital platform will allow fans to collect and trade WWE cards on their mobile devices, bringing the thrill of collecting to the digital age.
This partnership not only reunites WWE with a legendary trading card company but also aligns them with Fanatics, a company they've successfully worked with on merchandise and memorabilia. With new trading cards and the revival of the Topps WWE Slam app, wrestling fans and collectors have plenty to look forward to in 2025.
